The Millennium Champagne & Sparkling Wine Guide

I just received a copy of this 192 page handy guide which presents an A-Z listing of more than 900 sparklers, with tasting notes, price guide, storage advice, rankings (out of 100 points) and solid advice when to drink. If you think that I was tough on Moet & Chandon, check out page 184 where Tom states that this "world's greatest-selling nonvintage cuvee might just scrape in with 80 points." Ironically, this sparkler does improve considerably with some aging but then, the Millenium is less than 6 months away! As for my recent recommendations of Charles Heidseick's Cuvee des Millenaires, Tom gives the "creamy rich" 1990 a score 92!
