Ardbeg ‘Uigeadail’ (pronounced Oog-a-dal) takes its name from the loch that provides the peat-laden water for Ardbeg. This is a non-age designated malt that is bottled at ‘cask strength’ of 54.2% alc./vol. It is designed to be a representative malt of the house style, that Michael Jackson describes as “Earthy, very peaty, smoky, salty, robust. A bedtime malt. (Malt Whisky Companion, 5th Edition, 2004). Amongst other reasons, distillers create ‘cask strength’ bottlings to allow you to adjust the flavour with water so it suits your tastes. Price $ 124.95
