The ‘Gran Reserva’ (formerly ‘Havana Reserve’) was a Gold-Medal winner at the 2006 International Wine and Spirit Competition. TASTING NOTE: Chocolate, caramelized banana, some citric notes, orange pulp, toffee and spice. Palate: The chocolate comes back giving a sweet, balanced dram. Finish: Chocolate, coffee and orange peel. Comment: Good balance with the rum at no point overwhelming the whisky. Score – 8 (out of 10). (Dave Broom, Whisky Magazine, Aug. 2002) |
