A distillery that lives on only in our memories, Coleburn was established in 1896 and closed in 1985. Its license was canceled in 1992 and there is now talk of turning the land over for housing. Independent bottler Iain Mackillop had only one cask of this 1980 vintage, making this a true collector’s item. Michael Jackson describes the Coleburn house style as a dry, fruity aperitif. However, independent bottlers do bring different dimensions to the distillate through the ageing process. |
