CRÈME DE CASSIS LIQUEUR Burgundy, France
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer GILLES JOANNET
Extremely deep violet purple colour. Very bright, intense, sweet, complex, faintly herbal, candied cassis nose. Sweet, medium-full bodied, viscous, rich, well structured, slightly spicy, intense, candied ripe black current flavours with a long, lingering, bright finish. Has 20% alcohol. Screwcap closure. Perfect for a Kir when added to white wine or Kir Royale (Champagne). The former was popularized by Felix Kir, the mayor of Dijon in Burgundy after WW2, who served this drink with locally produced cassis and everyday white Bourgogne to promote the region. CSPC 383794
