ANGEL PAULUCCI VINEYARD MALBEC 2012 Ugarteche, Mendoza
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer LA POSTA
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Ripe, juicy, plummy cherry nose with lots of cedar-licorice notes. Dry, tangy, medium bodied, spicy, juicy, plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, crisp, somewhat cedary finish. A somewhat lighter, fairly juicy, crowd pleaser with some tropical fruit cocktail notes. Screwcap closure. This recent bottling (lot number L14213 on the back label) is not at all up to the richer, recommended best buy 2010 (**) released on November 10, 2012 at $15.95. CSPC 75515

LCBO Note Status
TASTING NOTE: Bright, dark red. Raspberry, violet and pepper on the lively nose. A step up in density from the Cocina Tinto blend but still quite dry and savory, showing a fine-grained texture and good energy to its berry and spice flavors. Finishes with a firm dusting of tannins and very good limestone lift. There may be more to come here. Score - 89+ (Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar, Mar/April 2014) Price $ 15.95
