RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2012 Mendoza |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
ZOLO |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, cedar-tinged, ripe plum, baked cherry nose with some sandalwood-cedar notes. Dry, extracty, slightly spicy, plummy, baked cherry flavours with a lingering, slightly cedary, mocha-chocolate finish. This recent bottling (lot 195/14 with 14% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar) is not up to the recommended best buy 2010 (**+) released on October 26, 2013 at $17.00. Moreover, it could not be the batch reviewed by Michael Schachner of the Wine Enthusiast on January 10, 2014 who awarded it 89-points according to the Vintages Catalogue. |

TASTING NOTE: Open, ripe, clean aromas of berry and cassis set up a loaded palate with tons of cherry, plum and blackberry flavor. Oaky, subtle notes of butter, dry spices and sautéed mushroom control the finish. Score - 89 (Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast, January 10, 2014) |
