RESERVA MALBEC 2009 Maipu, Mendoza |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
LOS CLOP |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Spicy, ripe plum-cherry puree nose with lots of vanilla notes. Fairly dry, medium bodied, stewed plum flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, mocha-chocolate-tinged finish. This repeat is not up to the 2009 (**/**+) released on August 31, 2013. |

TASTING NOTE: The 2009 Reserva Malbec has a clean, pure bouquet of black currant, blueberry, iodine and violet that unfurl nicely with aeration, the oak well-integrated into the fruit profile. The palate is medium-bodied and succulent in texture. It offers a swath of rounded blackberry and strawberry flavors, intermingled with cedar and tobacco, while the finish is well-balanced and slips down the throat with ease. Very fine. Drink now-2018.
