Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
TRAPICHE |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Bright, spicy, ripe plum-cherry nose with lots of mocha-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, ripe plum flavours with lots of spicy, mocha-chocolate notes on the lingering, crisp, cedary finish. Has 15% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar with lot number L14337 on the back label. A tad better than the recommended 2007 (**) released on October 27, 2012 at $17.95. |

TASTING NOTE: 18 months in French, Hungarian and Eastern European oak. Very dense layers of fruit. Lots of Argentinian smoothness but less obviously perfumed than their Estacion 1883 Malbec. Heavy duty. Drink [till] 2019. Score - 16.5 (out of 20) (Richard Hemming, jancisrobinson.com, Jan. 15, 2014) |
