The best wines are a reflection of the place in which they are made. Do yourself a favour and do an Internet image search on Dominio del Plata while you enjoy this blend of Malbec, Bonarda and Tannat with a dash of Syrah. The breathtaking vistas your eyes will drink in will give you the perfect context for the complex, broad and intense spectrum of dark fruit and spice in your glass. Crafted by the brilliant Susana Balbo, how could it be anything but spectacular? TASTING NOTE: An opaque purple red with aromas of blackberry, dark chocolate and smokey black cherry with some well integrated oak spice. The palate is very juicy with mouthwatering lemony acidity and fine mature tannin for balance. Good to very good length. Tightly wound. Needs an hour or two in a decanter, best to cellar for a couple of years. Best 2016 to 2020. Tasted May 2015. |
