A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection! |
TASTING NOTE: Dark ruby-red. Black cherry and licorice aromas are complemented by smoky oak. Juicy, tight and well-delineated, showing little easy sweetness to the dark berry flavors. Has the fruit intensity to stand up to its firm tannins. Today the tannins and structure of the Crios wines come from the grapes, not the oak treatment, noted winemaker/owner Susana Balbo. Drink: 2016-2019. Score - 88 (Stephen Tanzer, vinousmedia.com, Jan. 2015) |
