A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: (70% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot) Bright red-ruby. Cassis, blackberry, licorice, chocolatey oak and violet on the nose, with a suggestion of almost liqueur-like ripeness. Then extremely fine-grained and suave on the palate, showing insidious intensity and captivating inner-mouth floral lift to its dark berry and licorice flavors. A prime example of the slow, steady ripening that was possible in the 2013 growing season. Finishes classically dry and rather powerful, with sweet tannins and excellent length. Another remarkable value from this producer. Drinking window: 2015-2023. Score - 91 (Stephen Tanzer, vinousmedia.com, Jan. 2015) Price $ 18.95
