Fairly deep purple colour. Slightly spicy, ripe plum-apple nose with some mineral-tinged, sandalwood-cedar notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, tangy ripe plum flavours with a crisp, licorice-tinged finish. This 14% alcohol blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre saw 12 months in concrete tank - no oak. It’s ready-to-drink with lot number L15205 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Tony Aspler: 88 - Best Buy - Ruby-purple colour; spicy, baked plum nose with a note of pepper and evident oak; full-bodied , dry with lively acidity and a firm finish. |

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Côtes du Rhône Premières Côte is the first vineyard that gets harvested each year, generally in late September/early October. A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre that will see 12 months in concrete tank, it's an impressive 2013 that offers plenty of ripeness, medium-bodied depth and richness and terrific length. It tastes more like a mini Châteauneuf du Pape than a Côtes du Rhône, and should have 5-6 years of longevity. Score - 88-90 (Jeb Dunnuck, erobertparker.com, Oct. 2014) |
