Extremely deep intense purple colour. Spicy, juicy, black cherry puree nose with some mocha-chocolate-vanilla notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, bright, gently juicy, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, crisp, slightly cedary finish. Ready-to-drink. TONY ASPLER: 89 - BEST BUY - Dense purple colour; spicy mulberry nose; richly extracted, spicy, floral, tobacco and juicy black fruit flavours. A well-balanced wine. Has 14.5% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar with lot number 16020 on the back label. This was bottled well after James Suckling’s 94-point score dated July 30, 2014 quoted in the Vintages Catalogue. Meanwhile only 88-points from Stephen Tanzer (March/April 2014 IWC). |
