FAMIGLIA BIANCHI |
Bright medium straw colour. Intense, toasty, lemon meringue nose. Fairly dry, medium bodied, well structured, intense, toasty, spicy, baked lemon flavours with a lingering, high acid, faintly tropical, warm buttered toast finish. Ready-to-drink. Tasted twice - I really liked this ready-to-drink, crowd-pleasing Chard. The 2014 (84-points) was released on May 2, 2015 at $16.95. TONY ASPLER: 87.5 - Straw colour; spicy peach nose with toasty oak; full-bodied, spicy oaky toasty flavours of green pineapple with a citrus finish. Has 14% alcohol and 9 g/L residual sugar with lot number L5355 on the back label. |

A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection! |
Hand-picked and barrel-fermented, this is a profoundly rich Chardonnay that will suggest coconut, vanilla, apple and melon in a creamy style. Though Famiglia Bianchi is not gentle with their use of oak, it is skillfully applied and exquisitely balanced by the racy acidity and superb fruit to create a hefty, and tasty, wine. This one is ideal for planked salmon, or sea bass in a cream sauce. |
