BLEND 2012 Mendoza |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
DURIGUTTI |
Youthful extremely deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, intense, fairly attractive, ripe plum-cherry puree nose with some cedary notes. Fairly dry, medium-full bodied, quite well structured, harmonious, ripe plum-cherry puree flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, tropical fruit cocktail finish. Has 14% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar. Quite ready-to-drink. Unfortunately, the bottle at the Consultant’s tasting (August 23) was green, herbal, tart and peppery (85-points).

TASTING NOTE: Smoky, inky aromas of ripe black fruits, caramel and pencil eraser set up a creamy, chewy palate with flavors of ripe blackberry, cardamom and toffee. An oaky but smooth finish is elevated and not at all hard or soupy. Everything about this blended red comes across right. Drink through 2017. Best Buy.
