Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
MOËT & CHANDON |
Bright medium straw colour. Lovely, intense, complex, gently toasty, warm brioche nose with some lemon meringue notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, very slightly spicy, ripe lemon meringue flavours with a lingering, complex, gently toasty, tangy, mineral-tinged finish. The recommended 2004 (***/***+) was released on July 25, 2015 at $245.95. TONY ASPLER / 96-points / BUY - Smoky, toasty, apple nose; light to medium-bodied, dry, elegant, beautifully balanced. Dances on the palate with lemony, green apple flavours and linger forever. A supreme champagne. Has 12.5% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar with lot number LAJEH on the back label. You can now press a battery button in the bottom of the bottle, which lights up the bright lime green Don Perignon label so you can see it a black room. What would Pierre Perignon the French Benedictine monk who passed away 301 years ago on September 14 have to say? |

TASTING NOTE: A graceful Champagne, with minerally drive. Firm acidity and a rich vein of smoky mineral meshes with the plush texture, offering finely woven flavors of mirabelle jam, toasted brioche, crunchy pear, honey and smoked almond. Delivers a long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2029. Score - 95 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Dec. 31, 2014) |
