Extremely deep intense purple colour. Spicy, slightly dusty, plum-apple nose. Dry, medium bodied, tangy, plum-cherry flavours with a very crisp finish. Quite ready-to-drink. Screwcap closure. Better than the 2011 (*/*+) released on February 15, 2014 at $15.95. TONY ASPLER / 88-points - Cedary, tobacco and plum nose; medium to full-bodied, dry, firmly structured blackberry flavour with lively acidity and a good mouth-feel. Has 14% alcohol with lot number 16200 on the back label meaning that this batch was bottled on Monday, July 18, 2016. Beware of the the dated 91-point Parker score quoted in the Vintages Catalogue from February 26, 2014. CSPC 364075

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Malbec Uco Valley is a 4,000-case cuvee aged nine months in French oak, of which 10% was new. A beautiful, full-bodied, seriously endowed Malbec, it possesses a dense purple color along with a sweet bouquet of blueberry and black raspberry fruit interwoven with camphor, licorice and spring flowers as well as a touch of oak. This wonderfully endowed, full-bodied, classic Argentina Malbec should drink nicely for 5-6 years. Score - 91 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Feb. 26, 2014) Price $ 16.95
