Extremely deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, ripe, baked plum-cherry nose. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, fairly extracty, dense, slightly hot, plum-cherry flavours with a long, lingering, gently cedary, harmonious finish. Has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L15335 on the back label. TIM APPELT / score 87.5-points: Deep ruby-red with glints of purple. Peppery, slightly resinous, blackberry, black cherry and plum fruit on the nose. Dry, with elevated alcohol. Peppery, fruity, and notes of chocolate on the palate, with a little heat. Rather pretty and good overall balance. On the cover and not designated as “New at Vintages” (25 items) but actually one of 39 new release Vintages items (41% of the 95-item release). A VINTAGES “2017 Smart Buys Feature” - one of 20 items. |

Ranked #44 in Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2015. TASTING NOTE: Redolent of blueberry and dark currant, this fresh, pure style is matched with plenty of minerally components. The complex finish offers white pepper and bittersweet chocolate details. Drink now through 2019. Score - 90 (Kim Marcus, winespectator.com, Dec. 31, 2015) |
