Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
EL ESTECO |
Extremely deep purple colour for a 2012. Slightly spicy, fairly intense, ripe plum-cherry nose with some sandalwood-cedar notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, dried ripe plum-cherry flavours with a fairly harmonious, lingering finish. This 50/50 blend of Malbec and Merlot has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L17009 on the back label. |

TASTING NOTE: Produced as a 50/50 blend of Malbec and Merlot, the 2012 Ciclos Icono matured in French and American oak barrels for 15 months. There are some charred aromas and notes of ripe fruit and Mediterranean herbs (esparto grass). The palate is medium-bodied but it fills the mouth quite well with fine tannins and balanced acidity. Drink Date:2015-2018. Score - 91 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, Aug. 27, 2015) |
