Not presented at the consultants preview in the LCBO lab. TIM APPELT / 87.5-points - Deep, dense purple-red in colour. Rich, spicy and very ripe-to-jammy blackberry, black cherry and plum fruit, a floral note, baking spice, vanilla and mocha. Dry with a sense of sweetness, full-bodied, warm from the alcohol and jammy. Lots of oak spice and resin, with a mocha underpinning — from 16 months in new French oak. A jammy, weighty wine at a price that reflects its luxury treatment. Has 14.7% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar. |

TASTING NOTE: I really like the rose petal and salt aromas to this with fresh dark fruit too. Full body, very fine tannins and a fresh and clean finish. A blend of mostly malbec with cab, merlot and petit verdot. Very pretty. Drink or hold. Score - 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, May 20, 2016) |
