ALAMOS SELECCIÓN MALBEC 2013 Mendoza
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ALAMOS
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Fairly intense, spicy, juicy, black cherry puree nose with some slightly dusty, cedar-vanilla notes. Fairly dry, medium to medium-full bodied, fairly intense, slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, tangy, fairly high acid, cedary finish. Quite ready-to-drink. This REPEAT is a newly-bottled batch with lot number L16253 on the back label and now has 14.5% alcohol (up from 14%) and according to the LCBO only 2 g/L residual sugar (down from 5 g/L residual sugar) with a screwcap closure. Beware, this bottling is different from the one that was tasted for the “dead gorgeous” 91-point August 27, 2015 review appearing in the Vintages Catalogue. The recommended 2013 (**/**+) was last released on June 25, 2016 at $16.95. CSPC 322800

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Alamos Seleccion Malbec is sourced exclusively from the Uco Valley, a cooler part of Mendoza. 2013 was a fresh vintage that produced a very fresh and serious wine. Only 30% of it matured in barrel. It feels like a serious Malbec with nice concentration and complex aromas mixing fruit, flowers and spices. The palate is medium to full-bodied with prodigious balance, refined tannins and very good length. Dead gorgeous and a bargain for the quality delivered. Drink Date: 2015-2018. Score - 91 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, August 27, 2015) Price $ 16.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
