LCBO Note Status Recommended by Vintage Assessments!
Iconic and innovative, the Catena family have always been leading lights in Argentina's rise. Their Appellation series is modeled after the Burgundy system where village names become synonymous with the distinctive wines produced there. For Catena, San Carlos means Cabernet Franc. TASTING NOTE: [From Tim Atkin's Argentina Special Report] The vines in this Los Indios planting at the southern end of the Uco Valley were planted as recently as 2003, but are already making a very impressive, varietally pure Cabernet Franc. Deeply coloured, aromatic and refreshing, with notes of spice, blackcurrant and graphite underpinned by acidity. 2016-21. Score - 93 (Tim Atkin, MW, timatkin.com, 2016) Price $ 19.95
