VINEYARDS GRAN MASCOTA MALBEC 2014 Uco Valley, Mendoza |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
MASCOTA |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, baked plum-cherry nose with lots of sandalwood-cedar notes plus a touch of herb. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, quite well structured, fairly dense, slightly spicy, baked cherry-plum flavours with a lingering, cedary, fairly high acid finish. Hefty - a good match for a rib steak. Has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L17201 on the back label. TONY ASPLER / 88.5-points / BEST BUY - Somewhat subdued cedary nose of red berry fruit; full-bodied and more expressive on the palate; firmly structured, juicy with lively acidity and a firm tannic finish, |

Luis Gutierrez awarded this wine a rating of 90 points, calling it \"... fresh and floral ...\" with \"... fine-grained, abundant tannins, with moderate acidity. A powerful, expressive Malbec\" and suggesting a drinking window of 2016-2019. (robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016) TASTING NOTE: Lovely aromas of stone and dark fruits. Medium to full body with blackberry, spice, and walnut character. Pretty finish. Energetic. Why wait? Score - 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, June 21, 2017) |
