GAMAY 2016 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MALIVOIRE
Very faintly ambering medium red colour. Slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry-apple nose with some mineral-tinged notes. Dry, medium-light bodied, spicy, ripe plum-cherry-apple puree flavours with a crisp, unoaked finish. Ready-to-drink. This REPEAT has only 12.0% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. Not quite up to the slightly fresher recommended 2016 (**/**+) that was last released on February 17, 2018 at $17.95. TONY ASPLER / 88-points / BUY - Bright cherry bouquet; medium-bodied, dry, fruity cherry flavour; easy drinking. Not exactly “fullish” or “succulent” but quite tasty! CSPC 591313

LCBO Note Status Recommended by Vintage Assessments!
Gold Medal winner at the 2017 National Wine Awards of Canada. TASTING NOTE: Here's a juicy, fullish, succulent gamay with a fine measure of typical red berry fruit, if riper than the mean for Ontario. Indeed alcohol is a touch warming, but this remains balanced and fresh. An excellent example. Score - 90 (John Szabo, MS, winealign.com, July 17, 2017) Price $ 17.95
