MALBEC 2014 Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer VERSADO
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Very faintly reedy, spicy, still quite youthful, slightly baked, ripe plum-cherry-apple nose with some savoury, cedary, lead pencil notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, quite well structured, savoury, slightly spicy, intense, fairly dense, ripe, plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, cedary, very faintly bitter finish. Unfortunately, there is no technical sheet on the winery website so the details on this 2014 and the total acidity is missing. It has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. The recommended 2013 (**/**+) with 88.5-points was last released (for third time) on February 18, 2017 at only $19.95. TONY ASPLER / 89-points / BUY - Tobacco, blackberry, cedar and pencil lead nose with a light floral note; medium-bodied, dry, savoury, plum flavour with lively acidity and a firm finish. CSPC 317008
