WHISKY BARREL AGED DARK RED 2014 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer VINTAGE INK
Deep intense purple colour. Spicy, sweetish, Bourbony, baked unripe apple nose. Sweet and sour, medium bodied, spicy, baked apple flavours with a lingering, peppery, coconut-cedar-stave finish. This unique “limited edition” REPEAT is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Dornfelder aged in whisky barrels. As I said last time, while some may actually like it, hopefully, I never have to taste it again. This batch has 13.0% alcohol (vs. 13.4% alcohol before) and 11 g/L residual sugar. One wonders how could the the VQA panel pass something this and why is it in Vintages? CSPC 520601
