LCBO Note Status A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection!
Gold Medal winner at the 2017 National Wine Awards of Canada. TASTING NOTE: This is very much in Burrowing Owl's wheelhouse, a full, rich, smooth and ripe red with oodles of blackberry fruit, some violet and generous chocolaty oak. Yet there is a sense [of] elegance as well with an almost creamy texture, a hint of sweetness then a gently drying finish that brings out Black Sage dusty, herbal character. The tannins are very fine. The length is excellent. Pretty much sums up what fine merlot should be. Score - 92 (David Lawrason, winealign.com, Nov. 15, 2017) Price $ 39.95
