TASTING NOTE: Nose: a significantly different nose to other 17-y-o from this distillery I have encountered: much more pineapple and custard at play; Taste: massively salivating with malt concentrate and a non-specific, acidic fruitiness burrowing into the taste buds; a mix of muscovado sugars and ulmo honey deals with the surprisingly confident oak; Finish: wonderful cocoa, lightly but significantly oiled. Malt still has the major say even this late on, but it is brittle and bolstered by a little citrus; Balance: when a malt is this delicate, it is surprising the difference that just 3% can make to the oils and keeping the structure together. A dram for those with a patient disposition. Score - 94.5 (Jim Murray, Whisky Bible, 2018) Price $ 129.95
