BARREL SELECTED MALBEC 2015 Pedernal Valley, San Juan
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PYROS
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Dusty, red licorice-tinged, slightly spicy, baked plum and dried apple peel nose with some cedary notes. Very dry, medium bodied, somewhat peppery, herbal, dried plum flavours with a lingering, sandalwood-tinged, peppery, high acid finish. Tasted twice. This batch has 14.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L18080 on the back label meaning that this was bottled well after the review appearing in the Vintages Catalogue, as well as, the astronomical 93-point medallion appearing on the wine label.
