CABERNET FRANC 2014 Serluca Vineyard, VQA Four Mile Creek, Niagara-on-the-Lake
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CREEKSIDE
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, spicy, bright, ripe cherry-plum puree nose with lots of earthy sandalwood-licorice notes. Dry, medium bodied, bright, slightly spicy, tangy, baked plum-cherry flavours with a rather high acid, sandalwood-tinged finish that shows some earthy, mocha-chocolate notes. This tasty Cabernet Franc has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. TONY ASPLER / 89-points / BUY - Dense purple in colour; cedary, cassis nose with an earthy note; medium-bodied, dry, elegant, firmly structured, plum and currant flavours with ripe tannins. LCBO Note Status A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection!
TASTING NOTE: This relatively new bottling by Creekside is classy, elegant and one could say even aristocratic. I love the genuinely floral perfume, the juicy-succulence on the palate, the firm-ripe acids, the fine-grained tannins, and the overall palate presence and length. Care in viticulture and winemaking is evident here. Score - 92 (John Szabo, MS, winealign.com, May 10, 2018) Price $ 25.00
