CATENA ALTA |
Very deep intense purple colour. Intense, slightly spicy, very complex, ripe plum-cherry nose with some cedary, mocha-chocolate notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, intense, ripe plum-black and red cherry flavours with a youthful, lingering, slightly cedary, high acid finish. Tasted twice - the second bottle had an earthy, faintly bretty note. Has 13.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number L1807918138 on the back label. The recommended 2014 (***) with 93-points was released on November 25, 2017 at $49.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Showcasing the blending skills of Alejandro Vigil, this partially whole bunch-fermented, Uco Valley meets- the-primera-zona Malbec comes from Agrelo, La Consulta, Gualtallary and Lunlunta. Effortlessly aromatic, with fine tannins, chalky acidity and a twist of the pepper grinder. Drink Date: 2019-28. Score - 93 (Tim Atkin, MW, timatkin.com, Argentina Special Report 2018) |
