TASTING NOTE: For readers familiar with Rioja, Weinert is the López de Heredia of Mendoza, making wonderfully traditional wines and sticking to its principles. This savoury, mature, old wood aged red is a case in point, showing a combination of ripeness, figgy fruit sweetness, acidity, minerality and savoury tannins. Intriguing. Drink Date: 2018-26.
