RESERVA MALBEC 2017 Mendoza
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TERRAZAS DE LOS ANDES
One of 72 items (59% of 122 releases) not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. A REPEAT that last appeared in Vintages (-) on June 8, 2019 at $19.95 was not presented to the wine writers. Any item not tasted is assigned an interim ZERO-STAR (-) rating and an interim 0-POINT proxy score until properly assessed. The recommended 2015 (**+) with 89-points was released on November 24, 2018 at $19.95. Here is my previous note: Very deep intense purple colour. Attractive, slightly herbal, gently spicy, ripe plum-cherry-raspberry nose with some cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, intense, ripe plum-red and black cherry purée flavours with a lingering, cedary, faintly earthy, faint mocha-chocolate finish. Has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number CV Lot: 21283 on the back label. CSPC 29280

TASTING NOTE: This is the most solid malbec I have seen in this bottling with dark-berry and spice aromas and flavors. Medium-to full-bodied, firm and very silky and well defined, thanks to the super fine tannins. Drink or hold. Score - 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, March 27, 2019) Price $ 19.95
