Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
FABRE MONTMAYOU |
One of 103 items (68% of 152 releases) not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. Any item not tasted is assigned an interim ZERO-STAR (-) rating and an interim 0-POINT proxy score until properly assessed. The recommended 2015 (**+) was released on April 14, 2018 at $18.95. Here is my previous note: Extremely deep intense purple colour. Very faintly herbal, slightly spicy, gently juicy, intense, ripe plum-cherry nose with some gently complex, cedary notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, quite well structured, rich, mouthfilling, bright, plum-cherry flavours with a very crisp, lingering, fairly high acid, cedar-tinged finish. Has 14% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number CVL32817 on the back label. |

TASTING NOTE: Although this has a hint of bell pepper, there are also attractive blackcurrant and redcurrant notes. A serious tannin structure and a long dry finish of some complexity. Drink or hold. Score - 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, April 5, 2018) |
