TASTING NOTE: The soils of Chacayes are rocky and blanketed with chalk, and they generally give rise to wines with very robust tannins. This vineyard was planted 12 years ago on that rocky terrain, and today it yields a deliciously fresh wine. There are floral, tart cherry, herbal, and spice notes here, all in a context of firm and very piercing tannins. This wine was aged in used barrels, and the oak's only interference seems to be light spicy notes. The finish has that spicy touch, but it's layered over red fruit, lots of red fruit. Score - 94 (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2019) Price $ 19.95
