Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

NORTON |
This is one of 39 items out of 88 releases not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. Any item not tasted is assigned an interim ZERO-STAR (-) rating and an interim 0-POINT proxy score until properly assessed. The 2015 (*+/**) was released on November 24, 2018 at $15.95. Here is my previous note: Very deep intense purple colour. Very juicy, spicy, fresh ripe plum-raspberry purée nose with cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, very spicy, tangy, plum-cherry purée flavours with a lingering, high-acid, gently cedary finish. Has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L240718 B2018 on the lower part of the glass bottle. You can safely ignore the tasting note appearing in the Vintages Catalogue. |

TASTING NOTE: This malbec is from a selection of vineyards in Luján de Cuyo planted 10-30 years ago. It's a classic that's been around since the mid-1980s when, according to winemaker David Bonomi, the wine was just as fresh as this new version, which offers radiant, crisp red fruit that expands across the palate. This crisp malbec is the new face of Norton. Score - 93 (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2019) |
