One of 52 items (49% of 106 releases) not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. Any item that is not presented is assigned NO star (-) and an interim 0-point proxy score until it is properly assessed. The 2014 l Last appeared in Vintages (**+) on September 29, 2018 at $19.95 and was Recommended Best Buy. Here is my previous note: Very deep intense purple colour. Complex, cedary, slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry purée nose. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, slightly spicy, quite classy, very gently herbal, Bordeaux-inspired, ripe plum-cassis flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, gently cedary finish. Tasted twice - the second bottle seemed to be much more cedary the the first tasted the previous week. Has 14% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number L17194 on the back label. |

TASTING NOTE: Dark currants and walnuts with hints of hazelnuts and fresh herbs. Medium body, firm and silky tannins and a flavorful finish. Needs a year or two more to soften. Try in 2021. Score - 91 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, March 27, 2019) |
