CHARDONNAY 2018 Mendoza
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CATENA
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Bright pale straw colour. Attractive, intense, slightly spicy, gently complex, ripe lemon-apple meringue nose with refined cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, tangy, spicy, intense, lemon-apple meringue flavours with a lingering, crisp, cedary, mineral-tinged, high acid, faintly tropical finish. Quite ready-to-drink. Has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L1935420020 on the back label. This is the 21st release of this wine in Vintages since December 6, 2003 and is the best yet! The 2018 was whole cluster pressed; fermented, sur lies, in barrels and stainless steel. Wild yeasts. Some 60% was aged for 10 months in French oak, the balance of 40% does not undergo malolactic fermentation. CSPC 918805
