Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Very deep intense purple colour. Spicy, intense, youthful, fruity, intense, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis-raspberry nose with some cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, dense, slightly spicy, intense, youthful, plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, high-acid, somewhat cedary finish. This co-fermented blend of 78% Malbec and 22% Cabernet Sauvignon has 14.3% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number 19270 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Try with a rib steak. TASTING NOTE: The Toko Corte is a 70/30 Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon blend, co-fermented with 35% whole bunches. Firm, serious, structured and built to last, it's an intensely chalky red with lots of backbone and flavours of aromatic herbs, damson and plum. Classic Paraje Altamira. 2021-30. Score - 94 (Tim Atkin, MW, timatkin.com, Argentina Special Report 2018) |
