LYNCH ESTATE DON TIBURICO 2017 Mendoza |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

BENEGAS |
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. The winery website says that this is “the best 'Bordeaux blend' in our portfolio” and there is no question that it offers fine value. Very deep intense purple colour. Intense, rather complex, gently spicy, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, well balanced, ripe, intense, plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, bright, very gently cedary, finish. This tasty blend of 50% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot was aged for only six months in French oak casks. It is quite ready-to-drink and has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L-869 on the back label. NEW in Vintages. |

TASTING NOTE: Masses of ripe blueberries and blackberries here, the full body supported by a solid tannin base that provides imposing presence and a long, moderately dry finish with some cocoa-powder character. A blend of malbec, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot and petit verdot. Drink or hold. Score - 92 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, March 27, 2019) |
