Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. A REPEAT of the recommended best buy 2018 (**+) that was released on June 27, 2020. Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO as I didn’t want to take any chances. . Very intense deep purple colour. Attractive, juicy, intense, ripe black cherry purée nose with lots of spicy, cedary notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, spicy, tangy, intense, ripe, plummy-black-cherry flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, high acid finish. This single vineyard 100% Malbec is aged for 12 months - 20% in new French oak barrels, 60% in 2nd and 3rd use French and American oak and 20% in stainless steel. This 2018 is the best to date - an easy-drinking, well-balanced, juicy, well structured, crowd-pleaser that has 13.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with a new more recent lot number L20258 (vs. L20050) on the back label. A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: Nice bitter-chocolate and smoky notes, as well as lots of forest berries, make this generous and well structured malbec a rather complex wine. But the supple tannins are already so well integrated that you can enjoy it right away. Drink or hold. Score - 93 (jamessuckling.com, March 27, 2019) Price $ 16.95
