| After the recommended best buy 2018 (**/**+) released on November 14, 2020 at $15.95, Intense, was a bit skeptical about this 12th Bonarda 2019 release. Well what a surprise, it’s as good and perhaps even a bit better than the last one. It has a very deep intense purple colour and an attractive, still fairly youthful, spicy, bright, ripe black cherry purée nose with some vanilla-cedar notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, well structured, gently spicy and quite intense, the ripe, plummy-black-cherry purée flavours are followed up with a gently cedary, harmonious, mouth-filling finish with nice lively acidity. Versatile, reasonably priced and ready-to-drink. This 100% Bonarda from Mendoza has 13.5% alcohol and 2g/L residual sugar with lot number LM084 on the back label. |
