It was then designated as a “Vintages Online Exclusive” with no comprehensible reason. This unannounced LCBO move is hugely inconvenient and wasteful for all concerned - especially for the public who are on now the hook for all the extra LCBO costs involved. Unable to get a bottle for assessment from the agent. Any item not tasted is assigned an interim ZERO-STAR (-) rating and an interim 0-POINT proxy score until properly assessed. The 2017 (-) was released on March 6, 2021 at $20.95. |

| NOTE THAT THIS ITEM DOES NOT APPEAR IN THE AUGUST 7 VINTAGES RELEASE CATALOGUE - TASTING NOTE: The 2017 Tonel 78 Barrel Select isn't as closed as the 2016 I tasted last time. It is terribly balanced, very pure and integrated and more insinuating than in-your-face. This is a superb blend of Malbec and 35% Bonarda with lots of character and very good freshness. 25,000 bottles produced. Drink date: 2019-2022.
