TASTING NOTE: When the Duriguttis bought the Las Compuertas property, it had an old 10-hectare vineyard planted in the middle of the 1910s. Within these hectares, there's a 2.5-hectare patch of clay that Pablo Durigutti says is a colder soil that maintains much more freshness, acidity, and red fruit, and that's what predominates in this malbec. Even before you notice those sharp tannins, what you sense here is the purity of the variety, the aromas of ripe red fruits, the herbal tones. An example of a place, a historic zone for Argentine wine. Score - 95 (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2021) |
