BARRANCAS TOSO 2018 Mendoza |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
PASCUAL TOSO |
This very pleasant Mendoza blend of approximently 60% Malbec and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon has an extremely deep intense purple colour. It’s sightly spicy on the nose with ripe plum-cherry purée fruit and some cedary-sandalwood notes.. Dry, medium bodied, nicely structured, fairly intense, slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, faintly cedary, bright, earth-tinged finish. Quite ready to drink, it as 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a recent lot number LC-111116 on the back label. The recommended 2016 (**/**+) was released on October 27, 2018 at $17.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Attractive, rich, ripe red plums and berries on the nose here with a spicy edge and hints of tobacco. The palate has a vibrant core of fresh, red-berry flavor. Drink or hold [till 2026-28+]. Score - 91 (jamessuckling.com, April 2, 2020) |
