| After the recommended best buy 2019 (**/**+) with 88.5 -points released on May 15, 2021 at $15.95, I was a bit skeptical about this 12th Bonarda 2019 release. Well what a surprise, it’s even a bit better than the last one. It has an extremely deep intense purple colour and a very attractive, still youthful, spicy, bright, ripe black cherry purée nose with some vanilla-cedar notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious albeit well structured, gently spicy and quite intense, the ripe, plummy-black-cherry purée flavours are followed up with a gently cedary, harmonious, mouthfilling finish with nice lively acidity. Versatile, very reasonably priced and ready-to-drink. This 100% Bonarda from Mendoza has 13.5% alcohol and now 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number LM084 on the back label. |
