TASTING NOTE: Versado estate malbec from Canadians Peter Gamble and Ann Sperling happens with a local team, that being Esteban (administrator for La Productiva); Oscar and Soledad (Caseros or caretakers) at Villa Viamonte. This may just be the most concentrated and yet graceful of all their \"entry-level\" malbecs to date. There is a whole lot of barrel involved but my how smooth, silken and the whole package turns out to be. Remarkably perfumed in spite of all that wood, acids high, spirited and fine, tannins at peak performance. Needs time to unwind, unravel and fully integrate. I would personally not touch this wine for three years at least. Drink 2024-2029. Tasted November 2021. Score - 91 (Michael Godel, winealign.com) |
