| Deep intense purple colour. Youthful, very slightly spicy, intense, bright ripe Damson plum nose with some cassis and sandalwood-cedar notes along with a hint of dark chocolate. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, very slightly spicy, intense, ripe, quite well-textured, plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, bright, cedary finish. This 2020 is one of the best releases to date and is still quite youthful and should improve with decanting. Probably worth laying for a year or so. Best with a steak, it was aged for 24 months in barrels and has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 2024/03/219 on the upper part of the glass bottle. |
