TASTING NOTE: 1997 Campo al Sorbo is a wine of some complexity, typical of the vintage, with a deepish ruby-brick hue edged by garnet and a nose which gives hints of leather and spice as well as fresh and dried fruit. Having a wealth of flavour and firm structure, plus considerable length, it can stand up to game and cheeses, roasts and grills very happily. (Nicholas Belfrage MW, Jan. 29, 2008) |
